PAUL TARRANT

Director & Business Improvement Consultant

​

Paul is a Chartered Quality Professional and Member of the Chartered Management Institute and has held senior roles in quality and business improvement across the Rail, Construction Products and Services, and Electronics Manufacture sectors.  As a consultant he has worked on a variety of assignments with various clients including British Quality Foundation and Investors in Excellence.

​

With specialism in quality management, strategic business improvement, business process management and assessment to the European Foundation for Quality Management (EFQM) Model and IiE Standard, his previous roles have included Business Excellence Manager with Govia Thameslink Railway and Quality Manager with Bombardier Transportation Services. His early career in Aerospace and Defence was in Product Test and Development with BAe.


With more than 20 years experience in Quality Management, Paul has been responsible for:  implementing, developing and maintaining certificated business management systems to the requirements of ISO 9001, ISO14001 and OHSAS 18001.

Paul has significant experience with the EFQM Model, both in implementation and assessment as a Qualified EFQM and UK Excellence Awards Assessor. A member of the organising committee for the BQF EFQM Model Users Special Interest Group, he has presented on topics including: ‘Tools for Managing with Agility’, and ‘What Assessors Look For at EFQM Assessment’. In 2018, Paul was an Awards Judge for the BQF Innovation in Customer Experience Award.

Paul is an experienced practitioner of business improvement and quality methodologies including: FMEA; SPC; DMAIC; Process Mapping; 8D Problem Solving; EFQM Excellence Model; and the Investors in Excellence Standard.
